The Repto Buddha Drinking Cascade combines flowing water with a soothing decorative element in the terrarium. The compact waterfall features a detailed Buddha design and also serves as an accessible drinking spot for reptiles and amphibians. An included DC pump circulates the water from the built-in reservoir. You can easily adjust the water flow with the digital controller.
Repto Buddha Drinking Cascade as a watering spot in the terrarium
Various tropical terrarium animals respond more strongly to moving water than to still water in a traditional water dish. Flowing water is more visible and can encourage animals to explore the drinking area. This makes this drinking cascade particularly suitable for day geckos, anoles, tree frogs, and smaller chameleon species, among others.
Not every animal will start using a new watering spot right away. Therefore, always observe whether your animal is actually drinking from the cascade. Depending on the species, an additional water trough, manual watering, or an automatic sprinkler system may still be necessary.
Compact terrarium waterfall with adjustable water flow
The included DC pump delivers the water to the top of the cascade, after which it flows gently back down through the various levels to the reservoir. You can adjust the flow rate using the digital controller. Start at a low setting and increase the flow only when necessary.
A gentle water flow minimizes splashing and is generally more comfortable for smaller terrarium inhabitants. After setting it up, check to make sure all the water is flowing back into the reservoir properly. This will prevent water from spilling outside the cascade and unnecessarily wetting the substrate.
Smaller version for a tropical terrarium
With dimensions of approximately 21.3 × 19.5 × 23.5 centimeters, the Repto Buddha Drinking Cascade is more compact than the Repto Jungle Drinking Cascade. The water reservoir has a capacity of 0.75 liters. As a result, the Buddha model takes up less space and fits more easily into a smaller terrarium.
The Jungle Drinking Cascade measures 25 × 24 × 35 centimeters and has a 1.4-liter reservoir. This model is a better choice if you’re looking for a larger waterfall and greater water capacity. The Buddha Drinking Cascade is particularly appealing if you want a compact drinking waterfall with a distinctly decorative look.
Running Water and Humidity
The moving water can cause the humidity in the immediate vicinity of the waterfall to increase slightly. The extent of this effect depends on the temperature, ventilation, and size of the room. Therefore, always use a digital hygrometer to check the actual humidity level.
The waterfall is not a substitute for a humidifier or misting system if your terrarium requires a precise humidity cycle. For tropical animals, however, the waterfall can be part of a broader humidity management strategy, along with misting, live plants, and appropriate substrate.
Decorative Buddha Waterfall for Terrariums and Paludariums
The serene Buddha design gives the cascade a distinctive look. The design pairs beautifully with moss, small ferns, tropical plants, wood, and dark stones. As a result, the waterfall is suitable not only for a reptile terrarium but also for an atmospheric paludarium or decorative plant terrarium where safely flowing water is desired.
Always place the waterfall on a flat, stable surface. Leave enough space to refill the reservoir and to remove the entire waterfall from the enclosure regularly for maintenance.

Hygiene in Circulating Drinking Water
Although the water is constantly moving, it does not stay clean on its own. Feces, feed, skin flakes, and substrate can end up in the tank and be circulated by the pump. Therefore, change the water daily and clean the tank, the pump, and all surfaces regularly.
Also check the pump inlet for dirt and limescale. Consistent maintenance helps prevent clogs, unpleasant odors, and bacterial biofilm.
Instructions for use
Rinse all parts of the Repto Buddha Drinking Cascade thoroughly before first use. Fill the reservoir with clean water and initially set the pump to a low flow rate. Check the water level daily and never let the pump run dry.
Place the electrical connection outside the terrarium and create a drip loop in the cable so that water cannot run toward the outlet. Change the water daily, clean the waterfall regularly, and do not use harsh cleaning agents that could leave harmful residues.
