The Arcadia ShadeDweller series was developed to replicate these natural conditions in a terrarium.

With a UVB component of 7% and a UVA component of 17%, this lamp provides a balanced UV spectrum for suitable reptile species.

Thanks to its compact size of 30 centimeters, the lamp is particularly well-suited for smaller terrariums and enclosures where a targeted UV zone is desired.

Not all reptiles have the same need for UVB radiation.

Some species live in open, sunny areas and are regularly exposed to intense sunlight. Other species, on the other hand, spend much of the day among rocks, under leaves, or in sheltered hiding places.

Among other things, the lamp can be used in the conventional Arcadia ShadeDweller Pro T5 Kit.

The lamp can also be used in other compatible T5 fixtures with the correct electrical specifications and dimensions.

Please note that a T5 lamp cannot be connected directly to the mains. A suitable fixture with the correct electronics is required.

The tube is supplied without a reflector, power cord, or fixture.

When replacing a tube, always check whether the existing fixture is suitable for an 8-watt, 30-centimeter T5 tube.

Combine with suitable terrarium lighting

The Arcadia ShadeDweller 7% UVB T5 Lamp 8 Watt emits UVA, UVB, and visible light, but it is not a heat lamp.

For reptiles that need a warm basking spot, the UVB lighting must therefore be combined with a suitable heat source.

Depending on the species, this could be, for example, a halogen basking lamp or another suitable terrarium heat lamp.

For densely planted terrariums, supplemental LED daylight lighting may be beneficial.

If necessary, use supplemental heat and natural light to create a suitable living environment.

Replace the UVB lamp according to Arcadia’s recommendations, usually after about twelve months.

Turn in a worn-out T5 lamp at an appropriate collection point for lamps and small chemical waste. Do not throw the lamp away with regular household trash.
