MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Mist System V5

The MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Mist System V5 is designed for terrarium owners who want more capacity and expansion options than the Starter System offers. The powerful 24V DC pump supports up to 24 misters, making this set particularly well-suited for large terrariums, multiple enclosures, terrarium racks, and extensive tropical setups.

The Ultimate V5 comes standard with three Value T-nozzles. These produce a very fine mist with an average droplet size of approximately 50 microns. Using the included ST-24 Digital Seconds Timer, you can then precisely control when and for how long the sprinkler operates.

A key difference from the Starter V5 is the included ZipDrip Valve. This valve reduces the pressure in the lines after each watering cycle, thereby preventing the sprinklers from dripping.

The MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Mist System V5 thus provides a complete foundation for anyone who wants to install multiple misting points right away or plans to expand the system further in the future.

Professional MistKing misting system with up to 20 misters

At the heart of the system is a powerful 24V DC diaphragm pump that can power up to 24 MistKing misters. This gives the Ultimate twice the maximum mists capacity of the standard Starter V5.

That difference becomes particularly interesting with larger setups. For example, you can use multiple spray nozzles in a single large paludarium or supply fine mist to several terrariums from a single central pump.

Despite its higher capacity, the pump can also be used with just one sprinkler. So you don’t have to install twenty sprinkler heads right away to choose the Ultimate.

The pump can run dry without being damaged and is equipped with vibration-dampening rubber feet for quiet operation.

Three Value T misters with a fine 50-micron mist

The MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Misting System V5 comes standard with three Value T Misting Assemblies. Each mister produces a fine mist with an average droplet size of approximately 50 microns.

These fine water droplets make the system ideal for tropical terrariums, vivariums, and paludariums. Leaves, back walls, and other surfaces can be evenly moistened without the coarse water spray that can occur with simple misting systems.

The nozzles are adjustable, so you can decide where the mist lands.

In addition, the sprinkler heads are equipped with a check valve. The Ultimate, however, takes it a step further with the ZipDrip Valve, which is included as standard.

ZipDrip prevents dripping

After a standard high-pressure sprinkler system is turned off, pressure remains in the pipes. As a result, sprinklers may continue to release a few drops of water after a watering cycle.

The MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Mist System V5 therefore comes standard with the ZipDrip Valve. As soon as a misting cycle stops, this valve helps release the remaining pressure from the tubing. This prevents dripping from the misters.

This is especially convenient when multiple spray nozzles are mounted above plants, decorative items, or specific areas of the terrarium.

The set also includes the necessary 1/4-inch connectors and a Y-cable that allows the ZipDrip Valve to be connected to the pump.

ST-24 Second Timer for Precise Spraying

The MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Sprinkler System V5 comes standard with the ST-24 Digital Seconds Timer. This allows you to program watering cycles with second-by-second precision.

That’s important in a terrarium. A traditional timer that operates exclusively in minutes offers little control when, for example, a misting session lasting only a few tens of seconds is needed.

With the ST-24, you can set different watering times throughout the day and precisely determine their duration. This allows you to tailor the system to the type of terrarium, ventilation, plants, and animals kept inside.

For the fifth generation, MistKing has improved the timer’s electronics. According to MistKing, the new version has three times the electrical load capacity of the previous generation, which should improve reliability during frequent switching and fluctuations in the power supply.

Ideal for multiple terrariums

The MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Mist System V5 really shines when used with multiple terrariums. Instead of equipping each terrarium with a separate pump and timer, you can set up a single central system and route the tubing to different spray points.

The set includes 25 ft—approximately 7.62 meters—of black 1/4-inch hose. It also comes with a T-fitting and an L-fitting.

The T-connector allows you to split the line. The L-connector enables a neat 90-degree bend. Additional MistKing hose, connectors, and nozzles can be added as the system expands.

The included pipe cutter helps you cut the pipe cleanly and straight. A clean, straight cut is important for reliable push-fit connections.

Suitable for tropical terrariums and plants

The extremely fine mist makes the MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Sprinkler System V5 suitable for various tropical applications. These include terrariums for poison dart frogs, geckos, chameleons, and other reptiles and amphibians where misting is part of their care routine.

The system can also be used for paludariums, orchids, bromeliads, mosses, tropical plant walls, and propagation racks.

The amount of water actually needed varies depending on the situation. A densely planted terrarium with high humidity requires different misting schedules than a well-ventilated enclosure.

Therefore, always use automatic irrigation in conjunction with your knowledge of the animals and plants you are keeping, and regularly check the temperature, humidity, and the moisture content of the substrate.

Using Your Own Water Tank

The Ultimate V5 also does not come with a water tank. This allows you to choose a tank that suits your water usage and the available space.

MistKing includes a metal reservoir adapter with an O-ring and plug. This allows a compatible plastic reservoir to be connected to the system.

The fifth generation also includes a white reservoir filter. The filter helps prevent debris from the reservoir from entering the pump, lines, and spray nozzles. Thanks to the white housing, contamination is more easily visible during an inspection.

The set also includes a manual 1/4-inch shut-off valve that can be used to shut off the water supply when necessary for maintenance.

Difference between the MistKing Starter and Ultimate

The Starter V5 is particularly suitable for one or a few terrariums and supports up to 10 spray nozzles. The Ultimate V5 offers greater capacity and comes with significantly more accessories as standard.

Recommendations for Use

Place the pump outside the terrarium in a dry and stable location. Choose a suitable plastic water reservoir and install the included metal reservoir feed-through and reservoir filter according to the installation instructions.

Decide in advance where the three spray nozzles should be placed, and then run the 1/4-inch hose. Use the included hose cutter for straight cuts and the T- and L-connectors where the installation needs to split or make a sharp turn.

First, use the ST-24 timer to set relatively short watering cycles and check the results in the terrariums. Then adjust the duration and frequency based on the animals you’re keeping, the plants, ventilation, and the desired humidity level.

Preferably use water with a low mineral content. This reduces limescale buildup in the fine spray nozzles. Keep the reservoir clean and regularly check the white reservoir filter, the tubing, and the nozzles.

Frequently Asked Questions about the MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Mist System V5

How many nozzles can the MistKing Ultimate V5 accommodate?

The MistKing Ultimate Terrarium Mist System V5 supports up to 24 misters. However, the system can also operate with just one mister. Three Value T-misters are included as standard.

What is the difference between the MistKing Starter and Ultimate?

The Starter V5 supports up to 10 nozzles and comes with one nozzle as standard. The Ultimate supports up to 20 sprinklers and comes with three sprinklers, ZipDrip, more tubing, a shut-off valve, a tubing cutter, and extra couplings. For larger or expandable systems, the Ultimate is therefore more comprehensive.
