The HabiStat Humidifier with Digital Timer helps you maintain the humidity level in a tropical terrarium. The device converts water into a fine, cool mist and directs it into the enclosure via a flexible hose. Using the digital controls, you can set how long and how often the humidifier runs. This way, you don’t have to mist manually all the time and can create a regular humidity cycle.
HabiStat Humidifier with Digital Timer for Tropical Terrariums
Proper humidity is important for the skin, molting, respiration, and overall living environment of many reptiles and amphibians. This terrarium humidifier is suitable for crested geckos, day geckos, chameleons, tree frogs, and various tropical snakes, among others. The mist can also help create a humid microclimate in a paludarium or a densely planted terrarium.
The appropriate humidity level varies greatly depending on the species. High humidity isn’t necessarily better. In fact, many animals need a balance between humid and drier periods. Therefore, always adjust the settings to match your pet’s natural habitat and care needs.
Programmable misting cycles with a digital timer
The built-in digital timer allows you to set a runtime of 2 to 120 minutes. After that, the device can automatically turn back on according to a preset cycle. The cycle time is adjustable up to a maximum of four hours. This allows you to create multiple misting intervals throughout the day without using a separate timer.
The maximum mist output is 300 milliliters per hour. Adjust the amount and duration of use based on the size, ventilation, and layout of the terrarium. A small glass terrarium generally requires less mist than a large enclosure with good ventilation.
Large water reservoir and flexible mist hose
The reservoir has a capacity of 4 liters and can be easily refilled from the top. At the maximum mist setting, the humidifier can operate continuously for up to approximately twelve hours, according to HabiStat. At a lower setting or when used in short cycles, a single fill will naturally last longer.
The included flexible hose is 1.5 meters long. This allows you to place the unit outside the terrarium and direct the mist inside through the top or a ventilation opening. The humidifier operates very quietly and emits an alert when the water reservoir is empty.
With a separately available dual outlet, the mist can be distributed across two enclosures. Please note that the available mist will then be divided between the two terrariums.
Difference between a humidifier and a sprinkler system
A humidifier produces a fine mist and is primarily intended to increase humidity. A sprinkler system disperses larger water droplets over plants, decorations, and other surfaces. This is especially important for animals that drink droplets from leaves.
The HabiStat humidifier can contribute to moisture buildup on surfaces, but it does not replace a water trough, manual misting, or a sprinkler system in every situation. For a complete moisture cycle, you can combine misting with targeted irrigation. This way, you can maintain both air humidity and visible drinking water droplets.

Instructions for use
Place the HabiStat Humidifier with Digital Timer outside the terrarium on a flat and stable surface. Guide the hose into the enclosure without sharp bends and prevent accumulated condensation from flowing back or dripping uncontrollably into the terrarium. Use clean water and follow the HabiStat instructions for cleaning and maintenance.
Always check the humidity level using a reliable digital hygrometer. Start with short misting cycles and gradually increase them as needed. At the same time, ensure adequate ventilation to prevent stagnant, extremely humid air and mold growth.
