Both versions feature a heat-resistant ceramic E27 socket, an adjustable clamp, a hanging option, and a removable protective cage. This makes it easy to choose the version that matches the bulb you’re using and the dimensions of the enclosure.

The high-quality graphite color has a modern, matte finish and looks less technical than a traditional silver reflector. As a result, this version pairs particularly well with black terrarium frames, natural backdrops, and enclosures that are on display in the living room. Under different lighting conditions, the pigments in the graphite finish can subtly change in appearance.

Many reptiles seek out a warm spot during the day to raise their body temperature. With a properly positioned terrarium lamp, you can create a well-defined basking spot while still allowing your pet access to cooler areas. The deep shade helps direct heat and light downward and minimizes the amount of light that is wasted by escaping to the sides.

A designated basking area is important for bearded dragons, leopard geckos, tortoises, and other reptiles from steppe and desert regions, among others. Tropical reptiles can also benefit from a locally heated area. The required temperature, light intensity, and duration of use depend on the species and the terrarium setup.

The bulb is not included. This allows you to pair the reflector with an E27 bulb that perfectly matches your desired light and heat profile.

Choose between the 14-cm and 20-cm versions

The Arcadia Reflector with E27 Clamp in Graphite is available in two sizes. The 14-cm version is compact and suitable for small to medium-sized E27 bulbs. According to Arcadia, this version has a maximum wattage of 150 watts.

The 20-cm reflector offers more space for wider bulbs and is suitable for a maximum wattage of 250 watts. This size is particularly useful for larger terrariums, open turtle tables, and light or heat sources that, due to their shape, do not fit well under a compact hood.

Don’t choose the size based solely on the wattage. The bulb must also physically fit inside the reflector and protective cage. For a compact basking spot or Deep Heat Projector, 14 cm may be sufficient. For wide heat lamps, ceramic heat emitters, and combined heat and light sources, 20 cm provides more space around the bulb.

Ceramic E27 Socket for Various Terrarium Bulbs

The ceramic socket is suitable for terrarium bulbs with a standard E27 thread. Depending on the size you choose, you can combine the reflector with, among other things, a basking spot, halogen heat lamp, daylight lamp, ceramic heat radiator, or Arcadia Deep Heat Projector.

The deep shade promotes targeted distribution of light and heat. As a result, the Arcadia Reflector with E27 Graphite Clamp serves as a practical foundation for creating a suitable basking area. However, the reflector itself does not determine the temperature. That is influenced by the bulb’s wattage, the distance to the basking spot, ventilation, and the ambient temperature.

A heat lamp does not automatically replace the necessary UVB lighting. For diurnal reptiles, a separate UVB lamp may be needed to mimic natural daylight as closely as possible.

Flexible Mounting on the Terrarium

The adjustable clamp allows you to attach the reflector to a sturdy, suitable edge. The multidirectional design allows you to adjust the position so you can precisely direct the light beam to the desired spot. Grip surfaces on the clamp ensure a stable attachment.

The graphite version also comes with a mounting bracket. This allows you to hang the reflector above an open enclosure or turtle table. With the additional mounting hardware, it can also be attached to a suitable wooden terrarium structure. The switch in the cord makes it easy to manually control the connected lamp.

The removable metal protective cage shields the lamp and provides a neat, finished look. You can easily remove the cage to install or replace the lamp.

Securely mount or hang the reflector above the basking spot and combine a heat source with a suitable thermostat. After installation, check the temperature at animal height and adjust the distance, lamp power, or thermostat setting if necessary.
