The Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB Kit Forest combines a D3 Forest lamp with 6% UVB and 30% UVA with smart control via the LumenIZE app. The kit is designed for reptiles that, in the wild, rely on filtered sunlight, gaps in the canopy, and patches of light among dense vegetation.

The complete set includes a dimmable LumenIZE Pro T5 fixture, a D3 Forest T5 bulb, a focused reflector, a power cord, and mounting hardware. You can choose between 24, 39, or 54 watts. This allows you to adjust the length of the illuminated area to match the dimensions and layout of your terrarium.

UVB supports the natural production of vitamin D3. This plays an important role in the absorption of calcium from food. The included D3 Forest lamp emits 6% UVB and 30% UVA, making it suitable for species with moderate UVB requirements.

Think of various day geckos, anoles, chameleons, water dragons, tree-dwelling snakes, and other reptiles from vegetated habitats. Even in a planted terrarium for amphibians, a carefully placed 6% UVB lamp can create a natural light zone, provided that the distance and setup are tailored to the species being kept.

Smooth light transitions via the LumenIZE app

Use Bluetooth to connect the Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB Kit Forest to the free LumenIZE app. In the app, you can set when the lamp is active and what percentage of its maximum intensity is used.

This allows you to create a gradual sunrise effect instead of turning the lights on immediately at full brightness. As evening approaches, you let the intensity gradually decrease again. This dynamic daily curve better mimics a natural lighting environment and prevents a sudden transition from darkness to bright daylight.

You can also adjust the day length and maximum intensity for each season. You can manage up to fifty compatible LumenIZE fixtures in a single app. Each light can be given its own name and program, allowing you to control multiple terrariums individually.

The difference between Forest, Desert, and Dragon

The Forest version produces 6% UVB and is suitable for animals that rely on filtered or partially shaded sunlight. The Desert kit, with 12% UVB, is designed for sun-loving species from open habitats. The Dragon version provides 14% UVB and is primarily intended for reptiles with high UVB requirements, tall terrariums, or greater mounting distances.

The percentage is only one factor in the decision. The actual UV index at the animal’s height is also influenced by the reflector, distance, vegetation, climbing height, and any mesh between the lamp and the animal. By using plants, branches, and shelters, you can create a natural light gradient that allows your animal to choose a suitable position on its own.

Efficient reflector and improved IP65 construction

The reflector in the Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB Kit Forest directs the light and UV radiation downward in a focused beam and helps create a wide usable area. The reflector can be removed for cleaning and to replace the T5 tube.

The fixture has an IP65 rating, providing extra protection against dust and moisture. This is useful in tropical terrariums and those that are regularly misted. For richer visible light and better support for terrarium plants, you can combine the UVB kit with an Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar.

Thanks to the dimming schedule, the system does not need to operate at maximum power all day long. According to Arcadia, a typical LumenIZE program can save about 30% in energy on average. An internal backup battery preserves the clock and settings during a power outage.

Instructions for use

Place the Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB Kit Forest over a bright zone with sufficient branches, leaves, and shaded retreats. Adjust the mounting distance and intensity to your animal’s natural UVB needs. Allow a new T5 lamp to burn in at full strength for approximately 100 hours first, and replace the UVB tube after approximately twelve months.
