Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar – powerful LED lighting for terrarium plants
The Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar has been specially developed to provide terrariums with powerful, natural daylight. The LED bar combines a high light output with a broad light spectrum that is particularly well-suited for the growth of live plants.
In tropical terrariums, plants require sufficient light to grow healthily. Many traditional terrarium lamps produce visible light, but fail to provide enough usable light energy for a densely planted enclosure.
The JungleDawn LED Bar utilizes high-quality, high-output LEDs that produce a large amount of light while simultaneously providing excellent light distribution.
This makes this LED lighting particularly well-suited for tropical terrariums, bioactive reptile enclosures, paludariums, and other vivariums containing live plants.
Even in terrariums without plants, the JungleDawn provides bright, natural daylight.
Full spectrum LED at 6200 Kelvin
The Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar produces full-spectrum visible light with a colour temperature of approximately 6200 Kelvin.
This light approximates the color of natural daylight, ensuring that green plants, mosses, and terrarium decorations are displayed clearly and true to life.
Unlike some traditional grow lights, the JungleDawn does not produce a noticeable purple or pink light color.
The combination of bright white light and a broad visible spectrum makes this lighting suitable both for terrarium plants and for creating a natural-looking living environment for reptiles and amphibians.
The LEDs have a wide beam angle of 120 degrees, which allows the light to be distributed over a large area.
Ideal for the growth of tropical plants and mosses
An important advantage of the Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar is its high PAR value.
PAR stands for Photosynthetically Active Radiation and describes light within the wavelength range that plants can use for photosynthesis.
The JungleDawn has been developed to provide plants with plenty of usable light.
This makes the LED bar particularly attractive for terrariums housing, among others:
- Bromeliads
- Tillandsia
- Tropical ferns
- Fittonia’s
- Climbing plants
- Philodendrons
- Tropical mosses
- Miniature orchids
Sufficient light is also important for densely planted back walls and vertical terrarium landscapes.
The powerful LEDs help more light to penetrate to the lower parts of the terrarium. Ultimately, plant growth also depends on the distance from the light source, the plant species, humidity, nutrition, and other growing conditions.
High light output with efficient High Output LEDs
The JungleDawn LED Bar utilizes a specially developed LED configuration in which the light sources are distributed along the length of the bar.
This creates a broad, uniform light distribution, free from highly concentrated points of light.
The LED bar features an efficient heat sink that dissipates heat and helps keep the LEDs within their appropriate operating temperature range.
Furthermore, the lighting is equipped with electronic protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating, and short circuits.
This makes the JungleDawn suitable for daily use within a correctly installed terrarium lighting system.
Available in four lengths and wattages
The Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar is available in four versions.
| Version Length Number of LEDs Light output | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| 15W | 29 cm | 72 | 2534 lumen |
| 22W | 47 cm | 108 | 3447 lumen |
| 34W | 57 cm | 216 | 5587 lumen |
| 51W | 87 cm | 288 | 7638 lumen |
The 15W version is suitable for compact terrariums, while the longer versions distribute more light over a larger area.
For medium-sized and larger, densely planted terrariums, the 34W and 51W versions can be particularly attractive options.
When choosing the right LED bar, the width and height of the terrarium, the amount of vegetation, and the light requirements of the plants are the deciding factors.
PAR values and light intensity
The amount of light that reaches plants decreases as the distance from the LED bar increases.
Arcadia specifies the following indicative PAR values for the various versions:
| Distance | 15W | 22W | 34W | 51W |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 cm | 661 | 660 | 843 | 859 |
| 15 cm | 448 | 448 | 561 | 591 |
| 30 cm | 146 | 155 | 226 | 242 |
| 45 cm | 53 | 62 | 116 | 126 |
The values are expressed in µmol/m²/s and relate to Arcadia’s measurement setup.
The table shows that the longer and more powerful versions are capable of providing more light, especially at greater distances.
For terrarium plants with high light requirements, this can be a significant advantage—for instance, when the lighting is positioned above a tall tropical terrarium.
Combine with Arcadia Pro T5 UVB lighting
The JungleDawn LED Bar produces powerful visible light, but it is not a replacement for a UVB lamp.
Reptiles that require UVB for the natural synthesis of vitamin D3 therefore need supplemental UVB lighting.
The Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar can be excellently combined with an Arcadia Pro T5 UVB Set, such as the Forest 6%, Desert 12%, or Dragon 14%.
The Pro T5 provides the necessary UV radiation, while the JungleDawn supplies visible daylight and lighting for terrarium plants.
Thanks to the included connecting cable, compatible JungleDawn LED Bars and Pro T5 fixtures can also be linked together.
Arcadia supports a maximum of ten compatible lighting units on a single suitable power supply, provided that the permitted electrical load is not exceeded.
Simple installation inside or above the terrarium
The Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar features a slim design and can be installed inside a suitable terrarium using the included mounting hardware, or placed on top of a mesh lid.
The wide 120-degree beam angle ensures an even distribution of light.
Maintain a minimum distance of 12.5 cm between the LED bar and the animals, in accordance with Arcadia’s installation instructions.
The LED Bar has an IP20 ingress protection rating and is not waterproof. Therefore, position the lighting away from any direct spray, and prevent contact with condensation or other sources of moisture.
For terrariums housing animals that can reach the lighting, a suitable Arcadia LampGuardPro can provide additional protection.

Usage advice
Choose the version based on the dimensions of the terrarium and the light requirements of the plants.
Mount the LED bar securely according to Arcadia’s instructions. Maintain sufficient distance from animals and ensure proper heat dissipation.
To establish a natural day-night cycle, the lighting can be controlled using a suitable timer. A daily lighting duration of approximately 10 to 12 hours serves as a useful starting point for many terrarium setups.
The Arcadia JungleDawn LED Bar is not a UVB lamp or a heat lamp. Where necessary, combine this lighting with a suitable UVB source and a heat source.
Avoid direct contact with water, spray mist, and condensation.
