HabiStat Dual Outlet

The HabiStat Dual Outlet is an expansion kit that allows you to direct the mist from a single HabiStat Humidifier with Digital Timer to two separate terrariums. The included splitter divides the outgoing mist between two flexible hoses. This allows you to humidify two enclosures simultaneously without having to install a separate humidifier for each terrarium.

HabiStat Dual Outlet for two terrariums

If you have multiple tropical terrariums placed next to or on top of each other, a single humidifier may sometimes provide sufficient capacity. With this dual outlet, you can split the mist flow into two directions. Each hose can be routed to a separate terrarium, so that both enclosures receive mist during the same programmed cycle.

This solution is useful, for example, in terrariums for geckos, tree frogs, chameleons, or other animals that benefit from periodic increases in humidity. The HabiStat Dual Outlet works exclusively in combination with the compatible HabiStat humidifier and does not produce mist on its own.

Adjustable misting hoses for flexible placement

The set includes one additional adjustable extension hose with a range of approximately 43 to 165 centimeters. Together with the hose that comes standard with the HabiStat humidifier, you’ll have two outlets. This allows you to place the unit centrally between two terrariums or out of sight in a cabinet beneath the enclosures.

The short connecting hose is adjustable from approximately 5 to 10 centimeters and connects the splitter to the humidifier’s outlet. You can securely cap the end with the included hose cap, while the perforations allow the mist to pass through.

One humidifier with a shared mist output

When using a dual outlet, the available mist is distributed across two hoses. As a result, each terrarium receives a portion of the total mist output. The exact distribution can be influenced by the length, height, position, and bends of both hoses.

To ensure the most even distribution possible, position both hose openings at a similar height and keep the hose lengths roughly the same whenever possible. Avoid sharp bends and low-hanging sections where condensation can collect. After installation, always check how much mist each terrarium actually receives.

Simultaneous humidification without separate control

The two outputs cannot be programmed independently of each other. The digital timer and mist setting of the connected HabiStat humidifier apply simultaneously to both terrariums. The set is therefore particularly suitable for enclosures with similar humidity requirements, sizes, and ventilation levels.

For animals with widely varying needs, a separate humidifier per terrarium provides greater precision. Measure the humidity in each enclosure individually using a digital hygrometer. Even with the same misting cycle, two terrariums can reach different humidity levels due to differences in ventilation, temperature, setup, and vegetation.

Installation and Condensation

Securely attach the splitter to the humidifier’s outlet and connect both mist hoses. Route each hose as directly as possible to its corresponding terrarium. Make sure the hoses are not pinched, and check that the connections remain secure during use.

Condensation can form in the hoses as they cool. Therefore, position the humidifier and hoses so that condensation can drain back safely or be drained in a controlled manner. Do not allow water to run toward electrical equipment, outlets, or untreated wooden terrarium cabinets.

Instructions for use

Turn off the HabiStat humidifier before mounting the HabiStat Dual Outlet. Then, check with a short test cycle whether sufficient mist comes out of both outlets. Adjust the hose position if the distribution is clearly uneven.

Measure the humidity in both terrariums separately and adjust the misting duration based on which one reaches a high humidity level the fastest. Clean the hoses and connectors regularly to prevent buildup and contamination. Use the set only as an accessory for the HabiStat humidifier for which it is intended.
