Dendrocare vitamins and minerals for poison dart frogs
Dendrocare is a balanced vitamin and mineral powder specially developed for poison dart frogs, toads, and other amphibians. The supplement enriches your animals’ diet with nutrients such as vitamins A, D3, and E, various B vitamins, calcium, phosphorus, and essential trace elements.
Cultured fruit flies and other feeder insects do not always contain the same levels of vitamins and minerals as the prey amphibians consume in the wild. Dendrocare allows you to coat these feeder insects with a fine layer of powder. This ensures your frogs easily ingest the supplemental nutrients essential for their daily care while feeding.
The combination of calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D3 supports the development and maintenance of strong bones. Vitamin E plays a role in reproduction, and various B vitamins support normal metabolism. Thanks to the complete formulation, you do not need to combine multiple separate supplements yourself.
Why Dendrocare was developed specifically for amphibians
The formulation was developed following years of research into the nutritional needs of poison dart frogs. This process involved examining the differences between natural prey and feeder insects bred in captivity. Based on these findings, a precise blend of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements was created.
The powder is very fine, allowing it to adhere well to fruit flies, small crickets, and other feeder insects. This ensures that a sufficient amount of the supplement remains on the feeder insects during feeding, without the need to use large quantities.
Why Biotopo consciously chooses this line
At Biotopo, we keep and breed poison dart frogs ourselves. Proper nutrition, suitable supplements, and healthy feeder insects form the foundation of responsible care. We consciously choose Dendrocare exclusively as the vitamin and mineral supplement for our poison dart frogs.
In our experience, this formulation best meets the needs of the animals for which we offer it. That is why you will not find comparable vitamin powders from other brands in this product category. We prefer to offer a single, carefully selected product that we fully stand behind, rather than multiple alternatives that we believe offer no clear added value.
Here’s how to use the vitamin powder
Place a small amount of powder in an empty, dry container. Add the fruit flies or other feeder insects and gently shake the container until the insects are coated with a thin layer.
Remove excess powder using a sieve or by gently shaking it off the feeder insects. The dusted feeder insects can then be fed directly to the frogs or toads. Always use a clean, dry measuring cup and do not return used powder to the container.
