Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB Kit Dragon

The Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB Kit Dragon combines the powerful 14% UVB output of the D3+ Dragon bulb with smart control via the LumenIZE app. The system is designed for reptiles with high UVB requirements and for spacious or tall terrariums where there is a greater distance between the lamp and the basking spot.

The complete set includes a dimmable LumenIZE Pro T5 fixture, an Arcadia D3+ Dragon T5 bulb with 14% UVB and 30% UVA, a focused reflector, a power cord, and mounting hardware. You can choose between 24, 39, or 54 watts, depending on the width of the enclosure and the desired length of the UVB zone.

UVB supports the natural production of vitamin D3 in reptiles. This helps the body utilize calcium from food. An appropriate UVB zone, therefore, along with heat, food, and supplements, is an important part of a fully equipped terrarium.

The Dragon lamp is Arcadia’s most powerful HO T5 UVB lamp. This model is suitable for bearded dragons, uromastyx, larger agamas, monitor lizards, blue-tongued skinks, and tortoises that rely heavily on direct sunlight, among others. The kit is also a good choice for high mounting positions or when the UVB radiation needs to pass through a mesh terrarium roof.

A reflector directs the light and UVB radiation downward. This creates a wide usable area where the animal can sunbathe with a large portion of its body. By also setting up shaded areas, the reptile can choose between different light levels on its own.

Smart sunrise and sunset control via the app

You can connect the Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB Kit Dragon directly to the free LumenIZE app via Bluetooth. You can then program the light intensity for different times of the day. This way, the lighting gradually increases in the morning and gently decreases toward evening.

As a result, the terrarium does not go from complete darkness to maximum UVB intensity all at once. The gradual transition supports a recognizable daily rhythm and makes it possible to better mimic natural light patterns.

You can also set up seasonal schedules. This allows you to adjust the burn time and maximum intensity during different times of the year. In a single app, you can manage up to fifty compatible LumenIZE fixtures and give each light a unique name.

The difference between the LumenIZE Dragon and Desert

The Dragon model features a T5 bulb with 14% UVB and is designed for species with high UVB requirements, longer mounting distances, and tall enclosures. The LumenIZE Desert kit includes a lamp with 12% UVB and is a versatile choice for many sun-loving reptiles in terrariums of average height.

A higher UVB output isn’t necessarily better. The actual UV index is determined by the lamp type, the reflector, the distance from the animal, the presence of mesh, and the set dimming level. With the LumenIZE app, you can gradually dim the Dragon lamp after the initial burn-in period and adjust it more precisely to the desired daily light curve.

Efficient lighting with a memory function

Because the fixture does not have to operate at maximum power all day, Arcadia states that a standard LumenIZE schedule can save an average of about 30% in energy compared to a fixed system. The actual savings depend on the program settings.

An internal backup battery preserves the clock and settings during a power outage. As soon as power is restored, the lamp resumes the set program at the correct point. The updated IP65 design offers extra protection against dust and moisture, and the lamp base system makes it easier to replace the T5 tube.

Instructions for use

Place the Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB Kit Dragon over the basking zone and adjust the mounting distance to the desired UV index for your animal species. Allow a new T5 lamp to burn in at full strength for approximately 100 hours before setting up extensive dimming schedules. Replace the UVB tube after approximately twelve months to maintain reliable UVB output.
