Ranitomeya imitator Jeberos as a poison dart frog for a tall, tropical vivarium

Ranitomeya imitator Jeberos is a compact poison dart frog that thrives best in a lively, green setup with plenty of height and detail. In a well-designed vivarium, it moves purposefully along leaves, branches, and backdrops, making use of sheltered routes among the plants. Precisely because it is a small poison dart frog, a calm, “finished” environment makes all the difference: a mature, bioactive substrate, plenty of micro-hiding spots, and a layout that does not constantly change.

Setup and care for Ranitomeya imitator Jeberos

For Ranitomeya imitator Jeberos, success revolves around stability: constantly moist, but never stuffy. Ensure high humidity with sufficient ventilation so that the climate remains fresh and the substrate does not become waterlogged for extended periods. A mix of leaf litter, mosses, fine branches, and plants with leaf axils helps create natural resting places. The diet consists of microprey such as (wingless) fruit flies and springtails; variety in small prey keeps the feeding environment interesting and supports good health. This poison dart frog displays the most relaxed behavior in a stable enclosure.
